The 29-mile Tucannon
Rd, branching off from Hwy 12 north of Dayton and ending at Tucannon
Campground, is a pleasurable and passable drive, full of both Lewis and
Clark history as well as pioneer history.

The crossroads town of Marengo, with its vintage country church, is a reminder of the area's pioneer past.
Finally, the serene campground on the Tucannon River.
(there is dispersed camping before crossing the bridge into the campground proper)
The nearby Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness provides endless sporting opportunities.
The nearby historic Tucannon Guard Station is available for rental during winter months (see the great video, below)
