Our stay at Windust began an 11-day journey around the parks of the Lower Snake River.



The sites near the boat launch (above) and behind the fenced area (below) were the most popular...


... but the sites in the loop off the River were the most private.


The downside to sites on this off-river loop is that it was backed by the Windust Grainery, with trucks delivering grain to be loaded onto barges. These ran every weekday until mid-afternoon, then were quiet.



The barges along the Snake River were quiet...


...but the trains very noisy.


The small boat launch was popular with both boaters and campers.




The Day Use and camping areas melded together, making the swimming area and the shelters accessible to everyone.







Two tumbling tumbleweeds, separated at birth, reunited at last.
